Operational Overview:

REDDCRYPT automatically encrypts your emails directly on your device prior to sending—ensuring that the contents remain confidential throughout transit. This process allows for secure transmission of sensitive information via email.

Upon initial setup, you authenticate using your email address and create a password—generating a cryptographic key pair consisting of public and private keys. Your private key is encrypted with a hash of your password and stored securely alongside your public key on our servers. Most of this process occurs transparently in the background, requiring only your email address and password during registration.

The act of composing an email occurs locally on your device. This approach guarantees that only you can access the email content, as encryption takes place prior to sending.

If the recipient is also a REDDCRYPT user, the system automatically encrypts the message using their public key—requiring no additional input from you. For recipients not yet utilizing REDDCRYPT, you can generate a passphrase specific to that message. Sharing this passphrase securely (e.g., via SMS or phone call) allows the recipient to decrypt the email by entering it into their REDDCRYPT app.

Recipients must authenticate within their REDDCRYPT app to access encrypted messages. If they already possess a key pair linked to their email, decryption proceeds seamlessly—allowing them to read and reply immediately. If they do not yet have a key pair, they will generate one by providing their email address and password, then decrypt your message with the shared passphrase as needed.

This initial passphrase is only necessary once; subsequent emails are encrypted and decrypted automatically in the background, ensuring both maximum user comfort and robust security—this is what defines REDDCRYPT’s approach.
